Don't forget the 2 Jarrell found in the head count plus the blue one that's been for sale. Here in this area I've only seen 2 and both ended up being mine. I've been back to Colorado 17 years so lets just say they are kinda rare here.

Well Andreas Paassens has one that's about to go to SD, and I thought of the nice green CA 72 that was on Ebay then here, so that's 21. there's one here in GA somewhere I spent years trying to get the owner to sell me, so that's 22

Paul Polacek has just posted 33 pics of his 70 wagon for sale on the classic opel site. Dave it looks to have a very pristine red interior. No price was given other than " leaving it up to y'all"

You have forgot the nicest one of all....MINE!!!!
These are the 3 Asconas at the OMC 2005 picnic/fun run, and these shots were all taken then.....they are still wet!
Fellow wagoneers Gary and KeithW had a chance to meet me in person and cruise the Malibu coast alongside Paul and I in our Ascona wagons....they were in their luxery rental car. It was a great weekend and it's so great to have a turn around of popularity with the Ascona Sportwagons!!!! For the record mine is a 74 with a bright white 2 stage paint (color change), new black interior with black headliner and door panels, tame subwoofers and dual 240 watt amp where rear seat used to be, mids in doors, tweets in vents on far left and right. High compression 1900 from a 1970 GT with a stock 4 speed and weber. My car is sweet and I do drive it regularly....for many years! |

I did happen to catch a glimpse of larry's sportwagon. All I have to say is VERY COOL. Stereo sounds full without shaking all the glass in the car. The Rims do a good job of offsetting the car, and giving it a cool black and white theme. He even showed me some tricks to wagons!

Hello Beta Carotene
I was asking people at the picnic where is the guy from Bakersfield..never met! The run up the coast was great and i should be posting some video of Larry and I playing tag up the Pacific Coast Highway in our Sportwagons.. Mine is a green 75 SW , lowered about 2 " and 15" BBS style wheels and a flat black hood, It was a fantastic weekend!!! The Sportwagon drove flawlessly from Yuma to LA all around and back 75 MPH with A/C through the 110 degree weather without breaking a sweat. Thanks to Otto for suggesting water wetter and a 25% mix,,,the newer correct style stat also helped!!!

So that makes what...30 wagons so far?
Opelwagon; The red one with the guy posed in front of it, that's Axel Knauf. I have spoken with him a time or two, but, have lost contact. Was he there at the meet? Does anyone have an e-address on him?
