log on slow , firefox

hi Gary i am getting a very slow log on and opening a page with FireFox

IE is OK but FireFox is taking up to 30 seconds to open a page

i have no problem going to other sites just here

I use firefox, but have no issues.

I use firefox and it loads quickly. It could be a conflict with a cache of the site being from the old server. Everything appears to have been moved smoothly. We only lost a couple of posts that were listed in the period between them moving the files and me shutting down the forums.

i think it must be something to do with my PC as it happenes on and off
i just spent 49 seconds waiting for a post to load and then 28 seconds waiting for the redirect back to the thread
any ideas ???


it is quicker if i clear all cookies before i come on site but its a real pain if i have to do that 5-8 times a day

Im having problems with logon and emails.
Ive been trying to email a couple members but no response.Logon is very slow.

bob not all members accept e-mails or PM's from the site ,are these folks you normaly send to ?

what browser do you use and what os is your pc

I am using Opera, and I have the same problems. I just spent almost two minutes loading the front page, then 65 sec to log in, and another 40 sec waiting for this post to load. This happens on and off for me too, and it started a few days ago. Clearing cache and all the other stuff doesn`t make any difference.

Ive been trying to answer a classified ad,so I guess the member would try to respond if my mail got throughI do know they were online at the times I tried to email and PM

bob the spot next to a members name changes colour when they are on/off line to (and im guessing here been colour blind ) green / red

My computer is navigating much faster since you and Gary started to help, but I still dont think my email is working.
I sent one to Gary just to test it out.No response.

Got your email. I found one error in the main page script. The server load has not spiked since that fix.... fingers crossed..... I'll look into the subscribed email issue now.

its been a while since i have been on the site, but using IE 7 here at 2:39 EST the pages were takin forever to load. It could be my network, cuz this schools is horrible, but i just thought i would throw that out there.
