Now the dilemna with the Autosolutions short shifter (or any BMW shifter for that matter). It's designed for use with a full-length shift tower. There will be a lot of misalignment with the extended shifter, but if the shift tower is set back (say 7-8 inches) it's not a lot of angularity to be concerned with. On an Opel Getrag installation, the shift tower is massively shortened (front to back), so the lower attachment of the shifter has to be in the same plane as the back of the tranny or it will bind up due to the angularity. The only way to accomplish this is via a raised fulcrum (pivot point) for the shifter itself, which is the way I built Duane's Getrag 240 shifter and Gregg's Getrag 265 shifter. http://www.opelgt.com/forums/27574-post170.html http://www.opelgt.com/forums/27577-post173.html http://www.opelgt.com/forums/27868-post182.html Hopefully I've made myself perfectly clear (as mud?).
