He might have added some more words in the search feature too Tim. I've found that if you don't "narrow" it down, you end up with 13 to 15 pages to sort through. I don't think he was trying to be rude.

Seems like a person who provides an answer, AND a way to find it in the future, deserves more than a pissy response. And might deserve an apology. JM2CW

I have had training on the use of search engines from my school district technology department. I am sure other people on the list don't have that benefit so perhaps a FAQ file could be made by one of our wonderful MOD's to help and answer questions on the constructive use of this site's seach engine? It is a very quick and powerful one and is a great time saver (at least for me)

To GT Tim's defense. Someone with over 450 posts knows how to use the search feature, he doesn't need to be told. Some information is harder to find then you think when searching for it. Its not always titled in ways you would expect it to be and is easily missed some times. All he needed was a number.
I have commented on this before, sometimes people responding to questions do it in a snobby way whether they mean to or not. Kind of feels like your being talked down to... |

Yes,early, grouchy, something.I have never been known for being a morning person. It is just frustrating when I search for an hour or two and nothing. So a new thread is a last resort. But thanks for the answer.I think OGTS is my path though. They happen to be out of auto yokes.I happen to have bought an auto car for such a case.Something I will have to do when I get back from Maui.I guess I will have to live with a 4 speed for a month or so.

Getrag 240 weight
The Getrag 240, dry, weighs approximately 66 pounds, or just shy of about 30 kgs. This is the transmission only, no shifter or mounting plate. That weighs an additional 6-7 pounds or about 3 kgs. You'll need to ensure the tranny is dry (no fluids) when shipping.
Good luck with the shipping. Dave |
