Unanswered: Saxomat vs Paddle Shift

Saxomat vs Paddle Shift, what is available for the Opel GT, or what is adaptable within reason? Key is more on fuel milage over performance.

neither of them

the saxomat is used on some later opels but does not fit the older ones(and the older one does not fit our newer opels [ used way back and in the 90's so two kinds] ) and i dont think a flappy paddle one has ever been done for the opel range

but anything can be done with enough money but it would not recoup the cost back

A Saxomat is centrifugal force clutch used in Opels instead of a foot operated clutch.

Thanks Baz. I certianly want to keep expences down, don't have it to spend anyhow. But a solution is necessary if I want to drive many of my cars again, including my GT, and and Automatic is too sloppy and uses way too much gas. I liked the Saxomat because it is junk yard available, hence afordable. Do you know what the diferences in spline, pilot, and diamiter are? Or is throw a factor?

the saxomat has a pneumatic/vacuum action when you move the gear lever it disengages the clutch so you can shift
Opel sold it as Olymat. The system also reappeared in the 1990s as Sentronic.

have a look at shweb, Opel Rekord P2 Olymat
