Unanswered: adapting race flywheel from another brand?

Hi to all,
This is probably a stupid question but just in case...
Is it possible to adapt another race flywheel on our CIH?
I see there are lots of cheap billet flywheels for Chevy SB etc,
Maybe it's possible to use one of those as a start point,
Remachine it to fit our crank bolt pattern & our starter crown.
Just an idea to avoid a custom billet flywheel order,
Bob I'm sure you've checked this option,
But it's probably not possible?
Any idea welcome!
Hiro

I don't see why you couldn't just weld the original bolt holes closed and redrill new ones. Maybe heat treat it and shot peening too.

racing clutch.

Check the Quarter Master racing clutch
Chevy flexplate style clutch assemblies.
I am using this set up for years.
Flex plate from auto 1.9L with longer flywheel bolts from
ARP. They drill the clutch ass for opel crankshaft.
Let me know if you need any help.
Quarter master is only 50 miles from me.

Pete

I will look carefully to this option,
but price will be a problem as usual...

racing clutch

I think it cost me under $1000 with drilling it for opel
and release bearing.
