Kadett Rear Axle Upgrade for Engine Swap?

Hello Fellas.

Been a lurker for a while and originally signed up to the forum because I had some interest in some of the opel gt builds as I was considering buying one.

Well here it comes.

I have a buddy across the pond, he has a kadett and wants to put a nice motor in it. However the rear axle is seriously lacking as I'm seeing that the kadett and the opel gt share a lot of parts and its one of the first parts to go when a powerful engine is put in.

So what are the options for a rear axle swap? Any suggestions?

What is "a nice motor"? I have a 2.0-16V with 180 HP (it's a real nice motor) in two of my Opels (Kadett B and C), and both have the original Opel rear axle. If you are not racing it every day, it works just fine.
