opel 5spd
well a getrag 5spd will cost you about 1000 dollars and then you need to get a modified driveshaft but some people use a five speed from an chevy chevet wich is much cheaper look under the tech sections here on the club

Another option is to find a Chevrolet Chevette 5 speed bellhousing and use a Borg Warner T-5 transmission. Rather than going into all the details here, use the search function here for T-5 and you'll find all the information you need. One member (oldopelguy) recently had some adapters made that allow the use of the T-5 as well. I'm not sure as to whether any of these adapters remain for sale, but you can investigate this option as well. Much of the cost depends on whether you can do the work yourself or whether you need to have someone else do it. Any kind of 5 speed conversion is going to require SOME modification, but either of these options should be well within the typical DIY-type hobbyist's abilities. Todd

Have a look around this Forum (where I moved this thread to)
Clutch, Transmission and Drive-train Upgrades - The Classic Opel Forums as most of the ideas relating to a GT for 5-speed options can work very well for a Manta/Ascona. HTH
