Getrag 240 conversion

im a little curious..
would it be possible to take the 240 box, and put the bellhousing of the old 4-speed box from the 1900 manta A box on?

or am i wasting valuable brain cells?

Definitely wasting your time, as the 240 BOLTS RIGHT UP. I have the 240 in my Sportwagon, F.I. 1.9 and it bolted right up, besides, the case and bellhousing on the 240 is one piece, they can't be separated. The 265 can, but, it is a bigger trans.
