Unanswered: GETRAG V160 on a GT

Hi everybody,
I've found a GETRAG V160 from a 1994 Toyota Supra.
The price for this gearbox was very low, so now it's mine.
I want to fit it on my CIH engine.
I know the V160 was used on several cars like Corvette, M5,...
Who knows if I can find the correct bellhousing (including the first case) for my engine. there are 2 posibilities:
1: I use the right bellhousing , but I don't know which one.
2: I ask to a tuner to make a new first case without the bellhousing and than I fit what I want on my Gearbox.

Who knows a factory able to do this job?

thanks and best regards

Marc

Ford 2.8?

I seem to recall that a Getrag 265 can be used with an Opel CIH if you can get a Ford 2.8 bell housing. Can anyone confirm this? No idea if it would work with your particular situation, but it may?
There are other things that eerily cross over from the Ford to the Opel...pilot bearing, flywheel bolts...perhaps due to the common German heritage?
Can anyone chime in with more details?

hi marc i think its a no go to a cih unless the engine fits right on it as its a fixed bell housing + you would have to do work on the gearbox tunnel to get it in as its a big wide box , you are also going to have to fight a lot of inertia to turn it as you will have a lot more mass inside the box and a lot less power to turn it than it gets from the toyota engine , result it will sap power and acceleration

ps enjoy the clutch on them they are funky to say the least

Hi Baz,
I've contacted a guy who will weld the 'CIH' bellhousing.
We have to turn a little bit the new bellhousing to put the gearbox perfectly vertical in the tunnel. You have to know I'll use an electric movment for the front lighs so I've got more space on the tunnel.
I took some mesurement and it seems that the gearbox will take place without any tunnel modification.
My 2.4L will be tuned to +- 200hp, so it should be nice for the gearbox.

What do you think?

if you can match the housings then it will be great with that box , i was just worryied about getting it in the tunnel for space and then putting not enough power in to it but 200+ will be fine
