try a search for quaife or look at
http://www.quaife.co.uk/
and use a head pad when you try to get quaife usa to import 1 as they made 20 last year and sold most of them from back order they are around £550 here but $1400-1500 in the us

Sounds like it would cost about the same for me to buy an airline ticket to the U.K. and bring a Quaife LSD back as carry-on luggage!
How heavy are they?
I'm semi-serious!

The issue at hand with the Quaife's is they still don't make very many of them for the Manta/GT per year. So they may not even have one in stock if you fly over!

I have heard they wait until they have an order of 20-30 pieces minimum, and then make the production run...but at that point they're already all sold to their distributors, so there are rarely (if ever) any on the shelf at Quaife.

At 550 pounds sterling, that's $959.85 in today's exchange rate. If you buy it in the UK firsthand, you'll pay VAT (Value added tax), which I think is about 17% or so (been a while Baz, so don't quote me!). Now we're up to $1134 or so. When you bring it into this country, you must declare it and pay customs fees and duty...probably will only save $100 or so overall!

Yeah, they ain't cheap! The NOS ZF I got through a contact of Gil's in England, picked up one in Germany and sent it to me for $1200. Then an additional $350 for an extremely competant rear-end shop to remove the old unit and replace it with the posi. One of these days I'll be able to check it out and see if it was worth it.

When I tried to get one from OU, with money in hand, they put me on disregard, so I went to Quaife, both here and in England and was told there were none in stock and they didn't plan on making any more. I guess the folks on this site have made them change their corporate minds. There is power in numbers folks.

march last year i was asked to look into the quaife lsd and did so as its cheaper for me to call them that from the states ,
i talked to mike in sales (very helpful chap btw) and he said they could not take orders to ship to the states(as that was in compertition with there US branch) but would send to a 3rd party shipper (me) but they had no diffs but were going to make some mid year i talked again with mike in july last and they had made 20 odd of which some 15 were back order , the ones they had left were for general sale and were not expected to be in stock for more than 3 month non were earmarked for the US as they did not consider the limited market in the US to be worth shipping and leaving on a shelf i think at the time i worked out it would be around £650 ish to your door in main land USA or canada but do a search for the thread and check the price i worked out
