2.2 FI intake manifold

I have made some previous comments about the inefficiencies of the 2.2 FI intake manifold. The intake runners are much smaller than those of a 1.9 or 2.0 FI intake manifold. This helps to explain why a 2.2 litre engine is only rated at 5 hp more than the 2.0 litre engine, even though the 2.2 head's intake port flows much more than the 2.0's.

This is a closeup of the intake runner. Notice the mark left from the gasket, showing how much smaller the intake manifold runner is than the stock intake port.
