Unanswered: 2.4 CIH Engine Swap: Water Pump and Thermostat?
I am sure someone know the what to use, pictures if it possible would be nice. |

Still Thinking ...
There has been a bit of thinking going on about this problem ...
Because the Omega 4 (and 6)-cylinder motors use the expansion tank with a thermostat housing which has several water hoses attached there is no by-past passage drilled in the cylinder head to circulate water till the thermostat opens when using the earlier thermostat housing (Omegas have an external rubber hose that handles this chore). Still thinking how to overcome this tiny problem ... and wondering how important it is ... I am helping fit a tripple Weber 3.0L Senator six into a Manta - so have the same problem.

you may want to see the problems that early caddy cateras (97 throught 2001) had here in the us from poor cooling and oil starvation
Using the european set up for our luxuary loaded cars with AC systems that have to work extra hard in the hot summers in the US were a the reason for multiple engine failures in the Catera here. Look to see what the fix is on the caddy CTS post 2001 on the 2.8,3.2 and 3.6 engines. Ron |
