Vg30det???

I was wondering if i would need to modify my gt a lot to fit in a vg30det from a 300zx? and will that engine with its 5speed tranny work with it?

You may fit a VG30E in there (SOHC, 160 hp non-turbo from Pathfinders/pickups and 200SX, etc)), but the VG30DET is a twin cam/4-valve head V6 (wider) and it's already a cram-fit inside a 300 ZX...and that car is MUCH wider than a GT. Too much power for the rest of the driveline and chassis as well, you'd be better off tubing-out the car for clearance and chassis strength if you go that far.
