I think Budicexxx was asking if a 2.4L Pontiac Soltice engine could be put in an Opel GT that currently has a 2.2L.

Successful Engine Swaps

Speaking of engine swaps, I just bought a 70 GT with no engine or transmission. I'm considering if I want to go to a 2.2L or 2.4L Opel engine with a 5 Speed Getrag, or if I want to look into doing a small block chevy or something like that? I know when you build the Opel engines right and add on all the upgrades you can achieve quite a bang!

However I'm looking into some other alternative engines like a chevy block because parts are more readily accesible from anywhere you go, more mechanics know how to work on them, and a bit more horsepower.

Can any of you out there give me some examples of what kind of other engines & transmissions you have successfully installed and what modifications these required?
