Answered: Full custom 1970 Kadett B.
I've decided to go ahead with my Custom Kadett build up. After long nights searching and measuring underside of car. Seeing how much is needed to be modified and how much i can keep stock. Here's the list so far. 1. start careful stripping of car. Got masking tape and plastic boxes 2. measuring more and some more. 3. started building custom sub frame linking front suspension to rear. 4. Getting 4.3 drive train ready for custom front suspension. now just wondering where to post pictures and stuff from the build. here's a couple places where the swap bug got put in my mind.. Looks like you have already found it, I might put it under a Kadett B general subforum, but you can post updates with pictures just like this thread, or in your photo album, even make a blog. I have a couple long threads on restorations from point A-Z. But you can do it a number of different ways, just get us some pictures. I really like the Kadetts, and many members here do as well. Just show us some stuff, and don't get too commited to haveing to post, as there are a lot of projects started on here, and never seem to have an ending, I have one currently that needs some closure.. ha

1970 Opel Kadett custom
After we just finished taking off the paint. I got a good look at what i have to work with. The front end is on hold and maybe the front seats. Started taking apart the S-10 getting ready for shorten the frame and redesign of rear end setup.
So found stuff i'm looking for. Looking for a better deck lid and good source for fender flairs, i need about 3" at each corner for fender flares.. Last edited by tekenaar; 10-12-2009 at 04:45 PM. Reason: re design; fender flairs? |

And, don't throw anything away (especially interior) before you are done, as the upholstery shop may need the old piece to construct a new pattern from. Ask me how I know!?

As I look at the car more I keep saying do i really want to cut up this real clean Kadett. There nothing in or on the car just clean metal. A few spots been repaired and a few more are left. Just keep asking myself do I really want to do this?? Once you start cutting you need to finish. I might list it on eBay for a week (cheap what i have in it $300.) to see if it'll go to a happy home.
