Position of the Flywheel Dust Cover?

Working with a 1.9 engine and original 4-speed transmission in a GT, I'm having a hell of a time getting the flywheel dust cover into place. I've loosened up the bell housing to engine bolts to allow for a little movement. Oh, the engine and bell housing are in the car. The transmission is lying off to the side on the floor.

Questions:

Do I have to remove the bell housing to get the cover in position?

Does the flange on the top of the cover face the engine, or does it face the transmission?

Does the half-round center cutout snug up around the oil pan groove, or between the oil pan and the bell housing?

Thanks in advance.

I recently installed a replacement hazard light switch unit that another member was kind enough to send me. All turn signals work, front and back, but when I turn on the hazard light flasher only one side of the signals work. I think it's the drivers side.

Because the turn signals all work, the flasher unit must work. The hazard flashers use the same flasher unit for what they do. What would cause only half of the turn signals to flash when they are triggered by the hazard light switch?

I put the wires back on in the order they were connected to my old switch which never worked. I did move one wire, the colored one that goes to the flasher unit to the correct terminal on the hazard light unit to match the wiring diagram. The old one was originally disconnected. I found out why when I removed the old unit. That terminal was bent up 90 degrees for some reason....or maybe for no reason at all and by accident by the prev. owner.

Because the bulbs of the dash indicator light bulbs (the cluster just above the steering wheel) were constantly popping out (umpteen times) when the dash was lowered I think I must have placed two in the wrong sockets just before I put the dash back in. Maybe that has something to do with it. I need an idea of the fix before I go through removing and re-installing the dash (instrument panel) again.

I have a general question about a GT that I might have an oppurtinity to purchase. I currently have a 73 GT that I have worked on the chassis, rear end, etc but it has alot more to go and estimate over 10k to be in nice complete shape...of course probably at 30% to that figure once I am done. Anyway, there is a 71 GT with 71,000 original miles, no rust at all, interior is stock and complete from dash to seats to back area, no cracks in dash, it has the rare air condition center console with a complete A/C system that WORKS! It has the unsual option of having an automatic transmission as well. Body is very straight with a good aftermarket paint job with no dents, dings. All the bumpers and chrome, and lights are good with no fading, chips or cracks. Windown and trim are in great shape as well. It is a very well restored car.
I am just thinking how much $$ it would take me to build a car of this extent; restoring a 72 C10 pickup myself I know that it would be well over 10-15k. Would it be safe to say that this GT is worth between 8-10k or lower? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hello all!
I have been swamped with work and other problems therefore have not been able to do any posting.

The "Junk Yard Dog" is coming along quite well and should be ready to drive by the end of this month. This car has lots of upgrades that have been recycled from 14 other vehicles, hence the name.

1.	We started off by replacing the front clip with one out of a Manta. Yes the same Manta I got from Steve a while back that had severe rust problems. The fenders were fine after the 3-step soda cleaning, but the hood had several large cancerous areas; which we ended up grafting part of a 1969 Mopar hood on to it.
2.	The body was then clean-cut of all external moldings, door handles and other un-necessary items. The result was a very streamline body which will stand out when examined. A rear spoiler from a Honda Civic was installed and the third brake light was made part of the braking circuit.
3.	Part of the suspension was replaced with Chevy Vega mechanicals to tighten up some of the original slack the car had. End result was a tighter front end which greatly improved the cornering capabilities of the vehicle. The rear end was also rebuilt and re-fitted with a Ford Contour LSD FWD gear assembly that was slightly machined to accept Opel bearings.
4.	The engine was rebuilt using Chevy pistons and valves, painted in the traditional Green/Black Gargoyle colors. The head now employs a compliment of 1.72” intake and 1.60” exhaust valves with a Lunati cam, lifters and springs. The rest remained stock for now since we are using a Supercharger on this engine. No specs will be released on this engine until fully tested.
5.	The 240Cfm/8Psi Supercharger was built from scratch to serve the 1.9L Opel engine exclusively. The product, if I decide to sell them later on, will install on a GT or Manta in less than 1 Hour and only minor tuning is required.
6.	The transmission was rebuilt and re-sealed with a new BMW gear set I purchased in Germany a few months ago. The gear set is a bit odd since it has a 0.94:1 ratio 4th gear, but should prove interesting when on the road.

I practically used up lots of favors on this car but the end result will be quite interesting. This one will be my final Opel build for a while so I wanted it to be somewhat special and unique. I will post all pictures of the car as it was assembled in the next few days.
