Unanswered: Megasquirt Ignition Operational

I now have the ignition aspect of the megasquirt V3 system up and operational. I had it running on the EDIS module last fall, but now I reconnected everything in a very temporary fashion though I did connect it to run on the ignition map on the ecu and it worked like a charm. I am sill having some comport issues with my laptop therefor it was not inputting dynamically to the laptop. Though this still means Todd, Jeff, and Bob....catch up. Here is a video of it on youtube YouTube - Opel GT running on megasquirt

Congrats. I just drove my GT with my megasquirt ECU and EDIS from Ohio to Louisiana, 1149 miles. Great ignition.

OOH I love Opels with a cam installed.
First time out with the 70 on a semi wet road and It broke the tires loose in two gears. Remember it's only a street car.

Jordan,
That's AWESOME news. Congrats on getting it up and going! My last piece of the megasquirt puzzle is the trigger wheel. I was perusing the site this week and found an old post from Bob showing an aftermarket Sentra wheel that he claimed was a good fit. I'm not crazy about the wheels that DIY automotive uses, though I suppose it's a good solution. I'd like to somehow get one attached to the pulley much like the one Bob showed here. Once I get this part figured out, I'll have everything needed to begin my swap to Megasquirt EFI and Ignition.
I'll be using Opel 2.4 injector plates (and possibly the injectors if appropriate) and fuel rail mounted to a 1.9 plenum. I'm also wondering if the 2.4 throttle body will fit the 1.9 plenum (I'll find out shortly), but I also have a Sentra throttle body that I know can be fitted up.
I REALLY need to sell my house and get moved so I can get things underway. All my projects are on hold, and I'm growing tired of living in limbo...
Keep us posted on your progress!
Todd

I had pictures in a thread of the pulley I fitted with an edis trigger wheel though I have no idea what happened to it. Well anyways here is the pulley and VR sensor bracket which is Gregg's (washout) design.

*I found the thread http://www.opelgt.com/forums/1b-igni...-ignition.html *

You guys and your attention to details is mind blowing.
In the old days it would take years of bench racing to learn this stuff.
Now it's over in a flash.

Care to share details? What's the wheel from, and how's your sensor bracket setup?

Todd

i laser cut a 36-1 toothed wheel out of 1/4in carbon steel, too damn thick, and the cut quality wasn't the best as we were working out a parameter set. but someone can have it and the solid model i cut it from if you would like. the one i am using is out of 11ga, still a bit thick i think but cut quality is much better.
if there is any interest pm me.
