Ram Induction

I'm having a little trouble understanding "Short Ram Induction"
Lets use a common cam profile for this example F-306/290-6.
284 degrees of open time so 720 crank rotation -284 = 436 degrees of the valve being closed.
Lets plug in a desired torque rpm of 4500 rpm.
4500/60=75 revs per second
75rps x 360= 27,800 seconds
436/27,800 per second = .01568 this seems to be the KEY number.
Sound travels at app. 1,125 feet per second.
1,125 x .01568 =17.64 feet traveled before the intake valve opens again.
The 17.64 number is one full travel of the wave, one trip up and down the runner. So now it's 8.82 feet or 105.84 inches.
Then we get into the spring effect of the plenum... variables you've got to love them!
It's all about timing.

My fuzzy math has the intake track length of 13.200 inches with the above cam @4500 rpms.
