Unanswered: 2.2 FI upgrade ?

I have a 2.2 FI that I want to use in my '72 Ascona, is there any thing I can do to increase torque and may be som hp without any expensife modifications

1.9 vs 2.2

The 2.2 IS an upgrade of both torque and hp over the original 1.9!
The easiest way to improve the 2.2's output is a real well designed free flowing exhaust system - It should have the large flange "sprint" exhaust manifold fitted to it already so you just need to go from there back. The original GT muffler and resonator would just choke it to death!
Also a good modern "pod" air filter to replace the original one might help - though Opel, typically, did a very good job with the fuel injection air filter system.

You can also take the 3.0E air-intake shorten it to 4 cylinder

wich will give you some more hp.

I actualy don't care that much for more HP but I would like more low end torque, what I mean is I would like to pull a caravan that weighs 800 kg but I don't want to feel pulling it behind my car (automatic), if you know wat I mean.
