@tekenaar - how do you cover the co-driver footspace ?

Waht kind of container/tank have you used (front left) for catching the cooling liquid ?

Haven't addressed the cover in the footwell yet. Will probably modify junkyard plastic cover from another car to fit.

Have used various containers from different Jap cars over the years . . . whatever I could find at the time and would fit where I wanted to locate it.

1. Idle Air Control (IAC) unit, regulates idle speed electronicly based on engine sensors.
2. No, this was last iteration Bosch LE EFI prior to 'dynamic/O2 feedback (Lambda)' mixture optimization in EFI, LH and Motronic, which also use a MAF air flow sensor (Luftheizung) instead of the 'vane' type (Luftmengen) in the L/LE EFIs.

2.2e Ecu

Just a tip, Otto before you cover the stuff up with a kick panel make sure the radio antenna is sealed good at the fender. Otherwise water will get under and run down the antenna lead. Where the lead makes it's bend is right over your ECU and it will drip water onto it (bad news) ECU does not like taking a bath.

thats a real good tip, even if otto has already thought of that...it will help someone else who is thinking of locating the ecu in the same place...

Well, now it appears that I am missing the IAC Unit for the 2.2 setup that I got off of my engine. So...does anyone out there have one? I also do not have the dual relay, but figured I could take care of that.

Are you sure it's not merely a 2.0 LE FI? The 2.2 FI main relay is much more than just the dual relay as used in the 1.9/2.0 L/LE FIs, it also has an input from the distributor ignition trigger used in idle speed control. See #4, the 'relay', and #7, the ignition trigger source, in the wiring diagram below. This is representative of the 2.2 EFI system.

Both Tom King and I have 2.2 engines, I got mine from Tom. They both came without several of the EFI parts. We are both in need of the IAC and the Dual Relay.

The dual relay is the same one from a Renault alliance FI 1.7,2.0 around 1987 time frame

Sorry it’s been a long time so I am not sure
they where kind of expensive so when I got my 2.0 FI setup from Gil and saw a weird electrical relay

Right away I went looking for a replacement in case mine went bad

Its not to big of a deal the special relay just primes the fuel pump for a few seconds when you turn the key on

So you could wire in your system with a regular relay if you wanted to

HTHs

Nice looking job.

Just an idea worth considering......I mounted my ECU under the glovebox, no worries about water that way and it's also hidden when you look in the footwell.

BTW....don't ask for a picture, the beastie currently has 101 boxes on top of her as she's been blocked in the garage all winter due to Fredopelgt's GT being parked in front of her.

"BTW....don't ask for a picture, the beastie currently has 101 boxes on top of her as she's been blocked in the garage all winter due to Derfgt's (aka fredopelgt) GT being parked in front of her."

However, back in the Fatherland now and tucked up in the garage. After a great drive over with miles of smiles. Will have to ask Motormouth what his Race Engineer did to the the 2nd barrel, kicks you in the back and goes like a rocket.
