Jeff, that thread was "tank conversion for EFI", although it didn't really relate to fuel pumps, it does give possiblities for what is needed for converting to EFI. One thing you will have to consider is having a fuel return line back to the fuel tank from the fuel rail along with the normal tank vent. The fuel pump I'm using on the V-6/T-5 swap is rather pricey at $125 but I feel necessary is a “Master Fuel Pump #E8168”, it is a three port rotary pump that is fairly quiet. It has normal in and out ports plus a bypass/bleed port that returns fuel back to the tank keeping the pump cool in bleed mode and it bypasses fuel when the pressure exceeds 70 psi. My fuel rail bypasses at 50 psi so I'm sure I'll have positive fuel and pressure for the engine operation throughout the RPM range. HTH.

This would be more than capable of feeding a 2.2 litre, and it's an external mount design:
http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...63&prmenbr=361 Remember that a GT fuel tank is not baffled for EFI. While this won't make much difference in normal driving conditions, if you tend to drive hard in corners you will starve the pump and suck air into the pump. When this happens, you lose line pressure and the engine will stumble and perhaps stall. These devices are up to the task of preventing this from happening if you place them strategically within the tank (at least three of them). http://www.opelgt.com/forums/showpos...&postcount=196 http://www.opelgt.com/forums/showpos...&postcount=197 HTH, Bob |

Bob, Since the pickups are all tied together, wouldn't the pump still suck air if even one of them becomes uncovered by fuel? Also, what is the source of these devices?

Look under 'fuel pumps' and then 'external'. They're $15 each. |
