I just bought a steel coupling (1/4" NPT) and welded it into the tank bottom. Then you can use whatever you want.

GT Fuel Tank Fitting
GT Gas Tank Fitting:
It is a "compression" nut of 14mm x 1.5 size. The stock steel tube fits inside this nut, which in turn screws onto the fitting that screws into the tank. The size of the threads into the tank is 12mm x 1.5. On my GT, purchased 5/16" steel fuel line, bent to GT shape, and installed line with 5/16" compression fitting. No leaks at fitting for years. Doesn't solve your desire to enlarge to 3/8" ... Adapter fitting at gas tank may restrict 3/8" line. Adapters and Bushings: Auto Meter Metric Mech. Temp. On Willit? I used the standard replacement fuel tank line from OGTS, hooked a rubber fuel hose from it to a fuel filter, to a boost pump and from there 1/2" stainless to the forward surge tank, to a high pressure fuel pump, through another filter, then to the fuel rail. Never had a problem with fuel starvation. And with the 3.4L V-6 with Sequential Fuel Injection, I believe I'm using just a bit more fuel than an Opel 1.9L
