Unanswered: Gas cap gasket
I have two gas caps, using one for te gas tank and one for the valve cover. Here's my problem: Both have really bad gaskets. Can anyone tell me where and with what can I replace them? I could make my own, but not sure of the material to use thanks |

I ordered a gasket from OGTS and it wasn't made from gas resistant material..it swelled up and got soft after a few weeks, so I made a gasket out of 1/8 inch thick Buna-N (Nitrile)

Opel dealers here sell the oil caps without the rubber gasket, which you have to ask for, and is available separately. The same gasket fits the fuel cap. I guess a big parts store will have them. Late Mercedes oil caps are identical (in dimensions) and can be used in our opels, so I guess their gaskets will fit our caps.
