Unanswered: Vent hose

On a 73 GT theres a 1/4" vent (I think) hose that runs from the fuel tank and comes up the drivers side engine compartment and stops there, "PO thing" does any one know where this is suppose to go? also where dose the hose from the small hole in the valve cover need to go?

Thanks again Pat

The vent line from the gas tank goes to the vacuum canister in front of the radiator.

There's a pdf with a diagram from Charles Goin that might help:

'73's ...

On 1973 GTs there was a special fuel return line that went back from a bleed on the fuel filter - supposedly a vapour lock prevention method. This required a special fuel filter with one inlet and two outlets - so it is quite possible the "P O" could not find the correct filter, used a conventional IN/OUT one, and just left that line dangling there ... IMHO

That's interesting that the 73's had it. Opelbits (Tony) and I have discussed this various times as a preventative for vapor lock. The one by the carb is presumably the outlet, where was the inlet.
Does it return to the tank or back to an inline filter before the fuel pump?
Does anyone know if this actually helps reduce vapor lock?

I installed an electric fuel pump last year and have been contemplating whether or not to run a return line to recirculate the fuel. In theory it seems like a good idea.
