Answered: Filler Neck Stick Up?

hey, does anyone know how far the filler neck is supposed to stick up from rear deck.

Hi Joe If it's a gt ,just have it snug on the rubber.Probably around 3 /8 inch.

Some years of the GT's had a flange on the filler neck underneath the deck lid.

IIRC I positioned mine so that with the cap installed it cleared the large rubber body grommet by about 1/8", that way you don't see an ugly tube with a cap sitting on top, it looks like the cap is almost sitting on the rear deck.

What I do is that I leave the filler tube loose, put the cap on and push down while twisting it so that the cap is lined up and then tighten all the clamp screws.
