Unanswered: Fuel leak and Fuel pump ?'s

I have a fuel leak somewhere in the fuel line... seems to be coming from right under the driver's seat area. I noticed there are two lines running next to each other. Are they both fuel lines? Also, I understand there is a filter/strainer in the fuel pump itself that probably needs cleaning or replacing as there was some sediment in the tank that I think has gunked things up. I already have the filter replacement for the one that's right before the carb.
What's the best way to clean the one in the fuel pump and will I need new gaskets to do the job?

Try a search of "fuel tank sock" and you should find some ideas.

NRSNEW, On the GT There are two hard, black plastic lines that run from the rear of the car to the front, one is the fuel line from the tank, the other is the vent line. The fuel line comes from the tank via a short steel line and the plastic line hooks to it, then to the fuel pump. To clean the strainer/filter in the fuel pump you will need a new gasket. One of the tricks done by the Opel folks is to remove the strainer/sock in the fuel tank, which is what "Nobody" is referring to, and install an opaque or clear fuel filter between the steel line and the plastic line. That way you can get a visual of the condition of the filter there. Once you clean the fuel pump screen, if you decide to do it, with the filter between the pump and the tank, that chore should be a thing of the past. To find the fule leak, I suggest you wipe down lines in the are of the leak and see which one get wet and where. A fix would be to cut the line and put a section of fuel hose and clamps where you cut the plastic line. HTH.

Thanks, found the leak and dealt with it. I'm going to see what happens now that my carb is actually getting some gas to it!I may very well still have to clean out that filter/strainer in the fuel pump. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks for the info guys!!

Ok, got everything hooked back up, gas in the tank. No more leaks so far. Now, (please forgive me if this is a stupid question) how do I get the fuel line primed back up with gas so I can get gas to the carb & see how it's running?
