Where did this come From?

Its a long shot but maybe someone is working on this part while reading this post. I found a 17mm bolt from my GT laying on the floor. It seems to be the same age as other original hardware on the car and there is no junk on it so it was probably not around the engine. There is also a big washer for it. I'm thinking maybe steering stuff or heater stuff or trunk stuff. I haven't been working under the hood that much besides swaping out my exhaust manifold for a sprint.

Thanks for the help.

it looks like a pivot bolt for the brakes where the push rod joins the pedal or something like that (been a long time since i had opel brakes so i cant be sure)

you might want to look @

so other folks can see the pics as the links do not work and the site asks for pics to be posted here and not on a host site

Check the tunnel area by each seat, below the emer brake handle, on each rail below the door sill, behind the door above the package rack, and forward of the rear quarter window about the center of the door post. That's where all the seat/harness belt bolts go. HTH.

Baz, I believe Tom is correct. I changed my seat belts out last fall to a 3 point, as the 73s had and that appears to be the correct bolt for it. Look on your A pillar down towards the bottom and you should find the hole for it. If that's not it look towards the tunnel, by the edge of the seat.

i think that they are correct..that looks like one of the bolts for a seat belt. i have sold belt parts on ebay and that looks like the bolt. i think i would try and find its proper home prior to going out and getting smashed by a run away bus!!
