PayPal service for European ebay auctions

Since only a few people in Germany accept PayPal, I get asked every so often whether I can help out paying for an item bought on German ebay (by bank transfer), and of course I want to help out everybody in the Opel community. The thing is, my German bank account is as empty as can be, and moving money from here to there costs me money too. So I thought I create a new PayPal account, located on German PayPal, and you can send me your money to this PayPal account. I can then transfer it to my bank account, and make the bank transfer inside Europe for you.
I don't want to make any money out of this, but I can't offer it for free. When I'm accepting money on my German PayPal account from out of the country, PayPal charges me 3.9% plus 0.35 Euro per transaction. There are a few more cents for the bank transfer, so I'm offering this: You can use my service, by sending me Euros to my German PayPal account, plus 5% fee. You can choose to send "Euro" directly, so we don't have to watch any $/Euro exchange rates, PayPal will do that for you. Any "translation service" you need to talk to the seller is my free help anyway.
Everybody is welcome to use this, so go ahead and bid on German ebay for any Opel parts you like! If you want to use the PayPal transfer, PM me to start the process, and to get the PayPal account (it is different to my regular email address).

Holy Cow!! Are you SURE you want to offer this? I've dealt with German ebay on numerous occasions and stopped because of the hassle. I can think of no better gesture to offer the US Opel community!

If it gets too much, I'll just quit my day job and start to make a living by shoveling your money across the ocean!

    Thanks to Dieter!

Right after his posting the offer, I took him up on paying for some wheels that I purchased. It made things very simple compared to using a bank transfer originating here.

a little heads up on importing

Be aware that when shipping items from Germany to the US there are some companies that will not ship items purchased on e-bay sites out side of the United States. And if your item is to be sent by ocean and possibly air, that if it has to cross the German border into another country to get it to a port be prepard to have to furnish a copy of your Pass Port so that your Item can cross through the border. Your package may be small enough that it can be sent through the mail if the seller is willing
to send it. I believe the currrant rate is 32 EURO for 0 > 10 kilos and from 10 > 20 kilos is 62 Euro, and ship by airfreight double that cost.
I have been there and still doing it (importing) and some of the hoops you have to jump through is getting harder and harder, paper work and time.
Thanks Dieter, looks like you may make a good living in the exchange market.

Let's bump that up every once in a while, so everybody has a chance to read it. I have a few "regulars" using my "service", but I still can handle more!
