About 7 to 8 years ago there was an Opel restorer in Paterson NJ (Knikkerbocker Ave) called E & J classic cars. They had over 30 Opel GTs there. Anyone know what happened to all those GT's?

You don't suppose they got restored and all the customers were happy at the end do you??? That would be a good story to follow up on...but I seriously doubt it.

The guy's name was Eddie Gazawie. I saw the 30+ cars he had. I know he advertised in the Want Ad Press. If I look through my papers hard enough, I probably have a copy of the ad and maybe an old phone number.

34 years in the making & I'm finally driving an Opel GT!!!
I saw the 30+ Opels myself. They were too expensive. In 1999 he wanted $9,500 for a very good GT. J (from E&J)stood for John - he was the mechanic. John is supposedly working at Gensinger(?) VW off of rt.46 around the Paterson NJ area. Eddie is probably still in the cell phone sales business he use to have in the Montclair area. I have their old business card, but the garage and phone are closed. I just wanted to run through our OpelGT members if they know what happened to the 30+ GT's?
Can't remeber exactly when, but I saw them too, maybe June '99. The story from Eddie was that the mechanic was getting cancer treatments and decided he wanted to enjoy life and not restore the cars anymore, so he was selling everything off. I looked at a beautiful blue gt, he was asking 6400 but would take 5800 at the time. Also had a red one that needed to be reassembled, 3900. Every once in a while I come accross his phone and email, if I find them I'll post them.
HEY GUYS.. My father and i actually bought a 1970 opel gt off Eddie Gazawie back in 2001 ! it was in decent shape when we bought it.. paid 2000 for it.. and drove it home with no problem.. sadly we never got around to restoring it and its condition has taken a drastic turn for the worst![]()
