It's worth the money you paid for. Are you gonna fix it or
you are going to sell it for parts? Are you getting title for it? Pete

The "Illness" Returns!
Try Opel GT Source for availability of Getrags and 2.4L motors - they also have 2.2L motors, from time to time. The 2.2L motor is arguably the sweetest CIH motor Opel made ... and a bit less expensive than the 2.4L
Have a look online: Opel GT Source --- Welcome

This is assuming you are using EVERY component in the original fitment, such as the 2.4 EFI intake, 2.4 EFI computer, 2.4 EFI exhaust manifold and exhaust system, etc. Once you place the smaller 2.2 inlet and EFI on the engine, the 1.9 'Sprint' manifold, and smaller exhaust system, these numbers plummet. Lucky to have over 115 hp. But still the torque is enormous compared to a standard 1.9.

The old PS [Pferdestärke, German], pk [paardenkracht, Dutch] CV [Cheval-vapeur, French] is actually mathematical:
1 PS / pk / CV = the force needed to lift 75 kilogram, 1 meter, in 1 second why they used 75 kg I don't know 1 meter in 1 second is 3.6 km/hour

This car was left at a mini storage for six years till the owner of the place wanted it out. So he sold it on Ebay (to me) then went through the DMV to get it titled. So I just got that all done and got the car home last week. I pulled the motor out and to my pleasant surprise it looks like a brand new 2.4 it sat six years with no plugs in it and the intake was not bolted on. I want to pull the head for further inspection. I would like a little advice from you more experienced guy"s. Also is this oil pan just extra capacity or something else never seen one like this before?

Oil Pan ...
That is an increased capacity pan from an Opel Commercial Van - I think you will find that a standard steel or ali sump with fit with the appropriate oil pick-up tube. OGTS should be able to supply. Good idea to remove the pan anyway to check the condition of the bearings after sitting so long.
It is a for-sure 2.4L motor - see the "24" cast on the side of the block. With a motor sitting for so long with plugs out and manifolds off it will be a real good idea to remove the head (at the very least!) and check on the internal condition. One caveat - the 2.4 head bolts are 'Torque-to-Yeild' ones and are NOT re-usable. That means they get tightened on the production line till they permanently 'stretch' and won't get any tighter - they just keep 'yeiding'. A method used on modern prodution lines so that over-tightening cannot happen with automated assembly. I think the main bearing bolts are also of this 'throw-away' type too .... Check with OGTS for gasket set and new head bolts before tearing into things!

VERRRRRY NIIIICE!!!!!!! Thats not the first time I've seen that car for sale...but I dont think the real treasures were disclosed the first time around. You got yourself one heck of a deal there! Why is it when I have no $$$ the outrageous deals are in my backyard.....(sigh) If you need some nick-nacks to finish that ol gal off you should try to meet up with us at one of the Greater Milwaukee opeler meets. Between all of us we should be able to hook you up with at least a few goodies to help out.
Too cool!!! Joe

I actually have the truck that oil pan would belong to, I think. If you decide to not use it let me give you some $ for it...
