New Night Rider. KITT is a Mustang!

Sunday on NBC. Unfortunately, it will not be featuring The Hoff behind the wheel, but it says that he will make an appearance. Val Kilmer is doing the voice of KITT.
KITT will be a turbo charged Mustang GT500KR.

I guess I am going to watch it. I used to watch the old one. I had a model of KITT the Trans Am.
I'm sure there are gonna be some folks upset that KITT is going from GM to Ford. Oh well...
My neighbor has a GT500KR that is red with white strips. She let me drive it once! Wow.

It's supposed to be about Micheal Knight's son, so it is a possibility that Hasselhoff could be on the show.

I'm interested. Even if it's not exactly the same as the original, it still looks good and i could use a car-show/movie fix.

I don't know if anyone remembers, but this isn't the first time that they've continued/redone it.

In KR2000, it was a Pontiac Banshee. On Wikipedia, it says that they were unable to use the actual prototype, so the car that was used was based off of the Dodge Stealth.
The 1988 Pontiac Banshee

In KR2010, it was also a Mustang. http://img353.imageshack.us/img353/9819/kr20106mj.jpg

In Team TK, they had a number of AI like KITT, but the direct replacement for KITT was a Ferrari GTS. Team KR consisted of a F150, Expidetion, Mustang and 2 Motorcycles.

I didn't know all of that but I had seen some of the pictures.

BTW, I don't suppose anyone remember how the Action Pak (series of shows that spawned Hercules and Xena) Bandit movies with Brian Bloom? His ride was a Dodge Stealth and not a Trans Am either. Those movies were Beauty and the Bandit, Bandit Goes Country, Bandit Bandit, and Bandit's Silver Angel. I wish those were out on DVD.

Not a Ford fan, but have always liked Mustangs. Almost bought a Yellow 1995 GT with the 5.0L 302. Then after someone bought that before I could get back to it, I almost bought a 1996 Red Cobra with the 4.6L. Too much money though . That GT500 looks sweet..

The new show is very bad, and i feel will fall flat on its face. I doubt it will last a full season run.

I have to agree. I wanted to like it, but I just couldn't, it was too awful.
I would rather watch Nash Bridges to see cool cars.
