random bolt sizes?

ive been working on a full restoration of my first opel, a '73 gt for a few months now and i keep running into guess and check when replacing missing bolts here and there..does anyone know if a list of various bolt sizes exists for the gt?

does anyone know what size bolts are used to hold the rear propeller shaft hanger to the underside of the body?

thanks!

There's normally a download Excel spreadsheet on the Opel Tech Files page, but I think Gary has that shut down for servicing at the present. Go to post #15 on
http://www.opelgt.com/forums/part-su...t-opel-gt.html
and there is a zip file that unzips to the spreadsheet.

Does Wayne's wife know about this "list"?

I've looked through the documents referenced, but can't find the bolts that I need. I have a solex carb to put on, but do not have the bolts. Can anyone tell me the specs for these bolts so that I can locate some? Thanks!

I believe the stock carb mounting "Studs" are 8x1.25mm on the lower half and 1.50 on the upper..

I dont think 1.25 and 1.50 is correct. I think they are 1.25 bottom and 1.00 on top of the stud.

While getting my alignment checked this morning at Kauffman Tire, they noticed that I've lost a bolt that attaches the upper ball joint to the control arm. It must have vibrated loose recently. I can't find this bolt size in the "Screw and Bolt" list. It's not listed in the FSM either (as far as I can tell from looking at the alignment chapter). I'd rather not remove one to take to the store for comparison. Can someone post the size and length of these bolts here to help out (and for future reference)? Actually, if someone knows the size and length of all the various front suspension bolts (or a source for this info that I may have missed) I'll bet a lot of folks would benefit. I did search the site but came up empty for this particular bolt.

Thanks in advance!

Matt
