101 Cars You Must Drive- SpeedTV
On the ever popular SpeedTV Show I watched a fairly new show called 101 Cars You Must Drive. The episode I watched tonight showed a Citroen 2V, a Fiat 500, Renault R5 Turbo, and a DeLorean.
Of course the first thing to come to mind was... When do we see the Opel GT???? I wrote them this letter in hopes they would feature our loved car, "When will we see an Opel GT? Most who see an Opel GT forget it was NOT the small spin off of the 1968 Corvette. The Opel GT made it's debut in 1964 as a concept car in Russelheim Germany. It was one of the first cars designed and tested with wind tunnel technology. It was scaled down to a smaller car by the time it reached showrooms in 1968 and much of the original larger styling then went to GM's "big brother" the 1968 Corvette. It was also one of the early examples of UniBody automobiles. Although the cars were only made and sold from 1968-1973 there are avid collectors and enthusiasts worldwide. It seems everyone either had, or remembers someone who had an Opel GT. Today's authority on their parts, restoration and examples of classic original and custom modernized GT's can be found through Opel GT Source in Sonora, CA. Opel GT Source --- Welcome. An online club of owners and enthusiasts online can also be found at The Opel Community at OpelGT.com. Thank You, Neil 1971 GT Owner Sacramento, California" Keep your eyes open, hopefully Opel will get a spot in there! |

Last nights was the Acura NSX, Chevy II Nova, Chevy Corvair, VW Beetle, and Porsche Speedster D. Nice show, but I'd rather have all 101 in one shot then stretch it out over an entire season. There was a lot of fluff and not too much on details. Years were very ambiguous.
Will you guys post the cars if you see the show and I don't? I'd be interested to see what else they list. |
