Is a 70 GT rear axle assembly worth saving?

I am parting out a 70 GT and plan on sending it to the scrap yard with the front and rear axle assemblies. I have another complete parts car, so is there any good reason to keep either or both assemblies?

If the bearings are good and the gears are good, then yes keep it, provided you have the room of course.

The front end parts are needed occasionally.

I junked a whole rusty car after parting it out and found that there were things in it that I wish I had kept, so my motto is, don't junk it unless you don't have the room to store it.

I agree with Jeff. I have a scrap GT. When I'm done with it, only the rust will be going to the scrap heap..

Being an old drag racer, I only feel secure if I have a spare everything Seriously as soon as you throw something away you will need a part that is gone. Any glass, headlight pieces, drive train pieces, interior, steering, gauges, suspension and cables should be saved unless they are too far gone to be useful and the same goes for body panels.

I agree save every Opel part you can, cleanout your closets, attic, basement, throw out old houshold stuff and fill it with Opel parts.
If you're single
Usually the northern Opel's have great interior parts and plastic/rubber parts are in great shape.
The 69/70 rear axle is different than the later ones.
