Opel Manta Convertible

Hey all if you search craigslist there is a Manta convertible for sale for $2000

If you use the helpful search trick from this website on jaxed you will find it listed as nashville. The heading says portland. It looks great.

Very interesting. It has Vega wheels on it. They gotta go since the bolt pattern is not exactly correct.

Nice. IMHO, those headrest sticking up take something away from the car. Maybe some different seats?

Well, since the seats in this Manta are RECAROs, I think I'd learn to like them

Ok...just got off the phone with the guy. He bought it a few months ago and drove it into his garage. He has never driven it on the road. It does not have a top, just a boot. Its an automatic. He says the previous owner did alot of work to it and he has paperwork for that work. He told me it has fuel pump problem but wasn't sure what was wrong. It has a litlle surface rust but no rust thru.
Somebody made him an offer, but he said it wasn't enough, so he is up for offers.

Karl

Politicians and diapers have one thing in common. They should both be changed regularly and for the same reason.

Rob, I know that this one's hard to resist. I don't believe that you have a convertible. Probubly not the standard that you're used to showing but maybe you could get this one and make Charlotte in one swoop.

The ad didn't say it has a 2.0-16V or even 3.0-24V in it, am I right? So it won't find its way in my garage .

Toppless

I don't think I would touch this one. One being there is not a top for it, has to make me wonder how much effort they put into it (whoever built it) when reinforcing the underbody, since they did skimp out on the top mechanism.

I definitely want to go check it out now. It's probably an 1.5 hour drive for me so I'm not sure how long it will be before I can find the time to go, but I'm sure it'll still be there.
