R I P Patricia
It is with great sadness that I tell you that my 'Best Lady' Patricia passed away quietly in her sleep on 25th August, 2008 after a battle with cancer.
I was fortunate enough to be with her and holding her hand as she slipped away. I have been caring for her 24/7 and not been able to log on here recently. We had been together for 25 years of love and companionship. Rest in Peace, Patricia |

Condolences Jim...
I wish you good luck and strength in these days to come. My father had lungcancer last year. Fortunately my brother has a friend who is lungspecialist in the finest hospital there is in the Netherlands. That saved my father, he could be helped in time. Other people would be placed on a waiting list and get surgery to late... |

My deepest sympathies!
My grandfather died in cancer nearly 20 years ago and accomplished a lot after being diagnosed. After he died I said to my grandmother that it must have been good to be able to spend time and say farewell, rather than a sudden unexpected death and she didn't agree at all, which is when I realized how hard it must be. My philosophy is to celebrate that person and be happy that they lived and that one knew them. However, whether I'll be strong enough to do the same when I'm faced with a similar situation is something else. Thoughts from Sweden! |

From The Smith Family, our condolences and prayers. I lost my father a while back, and it still hurts today, but, fond memories outweight the hurt. Knowing he is where no pain or grief can touch him is a grateful thing to know. This we hope and pray for Patricia.

Jim,
I hope that you can console yourself in some way that she is at peace. I've lost both of my parents in the past few years one to lung cancer and the other to complications after what is typically "out patient" surgery if you are reasonably fit. Both were tough! I was able to be with my Dad for a lot of the time helping and driving him for treatments. I really cherished this time I spent with him. Be strong, I'm sure she would want you to be able to move on.
