Excerpts from PM from Tom A.:

Due to the hurricane Ike winds that hit the Cincinnati/Ohio Valley area 500,000 plus Duke Energy customers (including my hospital) have been without power since Sunday afternoon. As a result, my lung surgery has been re-scheduled for next Friday, September 26th.

I am in Flatwoods, Kentucky at the Public Library so if you can forward this info for me I would appreciate it. I will try to have my son Ian, post the appropriate information after my upcoming surgery.

Tom, wishing you the best with your upcoming surgery. I was fortunate with the electricity problem being east of cincy, I was only without power for about 9 hours. I know we still have people without as of Saturday night. Bruce

Well, I just made it home (Cincinnati) from the boondocks of Kentucky (where I'm original from so I can trash talk it) and no longer dependent on the Public Library.

My sincere thanks to everyone for your comments and concern. I have a couple tuff days ahead to get all the things done I've put off too long and those things I am told I may be unable to do for a couple of months.

I'm still open to someone from the Cincinnati area interested in taking Ms. Opel to the Pumpkin Run Nationals in Friday - October 3rd thru Sunday - October 5th. The fees have been paid in advance - all you have to do is pick up the packet at the Eastgate Holiday Inn on Thursday - October 2nd
(anytime from 2pm to 8pm) and drive the car to the show on Friday ( arrive anytime after 7 am) and bring it back on Sunday (awards at 3pm). Call me at 513-236-5005 if anyone is interested.

Well, apparently I didn't read back far enough to see that your surgery was postponed. I thought the fact you were home meant you were through it all. So, instead I'll say good luck Tom!!!

This is Tom's son Ian, my Dad came out of surgery and is cancer free! Thank all of you for your support during this uncertain time. My family is very appreciative of all of your kind words and good wishes. I will keep an eye on my father, as I'm certain he will try to break out of the hospital to make it to Springfield Route 66 car show this weekend!
