Question GT steering wheel to a Manta?

Just curious if a GT steering wheel is a direct bolt-on "upgrade" for my '74 Manta.
Any thoughts, facts or ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Steve

Steering wheel

Yes, Manta/Ascona and GT all have the same spline on the steering shaft. Slight modification is needed to hook the horn up.

Here's a little different angle, get a hub adaptor from these people:

ALFA DIRECT INTERNATIONAL

4880 WEST RIDGE RD.

SPENCERPORT N.Y. USA 14559 phone-585-3525131 fax-585-3525131

Then you can hunt Ebay for a used MOMO, Nardi/Personal, or even RAID steering wheel. This adaptor is drilled for two different patterns, but, works great either way. I have one of these adaptors on all my cars, and did the Ebay thing. Here's another tid-bit of info, if you like MOMO, look into their "marine" steering wheels, just as nice, but, with a little bit more protection from wear and tear, since being a marine application, and they're cheaper too!!

Thumbs up

Excellent info guys, thanks! I definitely appreciate all of it including the 'marine app" trick (which I may use on my Volvo) but my Manta is going to stay OEM-appearing for the most part.

Any tricks/tips for the horn fitment part of the conversion?

If you're referring to the horn button, most wheels should have a horn button, if not, they can be had off Ebay too
