Well today i finished up the pertronix installation and decided to take a ride in my gt i have been working on since july.Ran it for about 40 miles in town with a grin on my face the whole time.On the way back home i asked my brother if he wanted to drive it for awhile. All the work i have done was worth it to see the grin on his face as he shifted into 2nd after reaching 5500 RPM and his reaction after blasting by 2 police officers on the side of the road, since i have not put side mirriors on yet he didnt even worry about the police and did a 5500 shift in 3rd,i was really pleased how she ran and made all the work worth it.A BIG shout out to all the forum for all the useful info .

SO, did you get a ticket? A good story in any case. The thing about making Opels run well for me is the connection to a feeling I had 35 years ago, it's almost surreal, like a flashback, buzzing along and feeling like you're lucky just to have this car. Congratulations on your project in any case.

No we didnt get a ticket..luck i guess. This is my first Opel but i have loved these cars since i was a teenager some 24 years ago. After getting rid of my Monza Mirage with a 400 ci. because of all the tickets i thought i would want a stylish slower car but the time never felt right.Until my brother bought a car like he had in high school a 69 amc rambler american.I am loving having a project and helping each other out.Im far from done with it...more of a rolling restoration.
