Anyone seen this GT?

The red Lenk GT in this photo used to reside just outside of Vancouver and was an extremely beautiful car. I lost track of them in 1997 or so but I know he was selling the car to finance another project and it eventually went somewhere in the States. I'm curious more than anything, but does anyone know where it ended up?

These photos are from the 93 or 94 Tacoma event.

I believe this is the car bought by Richard and Patty in Wichata falls. Saw it this weekend for the Texas meet. Still looks great. Ron

I think it is the one that got rear ended on it's way to the 2000 OMC picnic. There were a couple of Opel on Opel accidents that year.

I believe the one rear ended in california belonged to Dennis of opel gt source and has since been repaired. Dennis's does not have the lenk sticker across the wind shield an Richards of Tx does

That is not Dennis' car. He has a targa top and the Lenk California style spoiler. I also know because I was the guy that tagged his car in 2000 with my Manta which Jonzo now owns.

I saw Richard and Patty's car after it was "tagged".
This picture was taken Oct 2000 at our Waco, TX meet.
You can't tell in the picture, but it was wearing the damage.

Say what? If my Manta (that opelwasp used to own) was ever involved in an accident I sure couldn't tell! Please tell me more about "our" Blue Max.

By the way, the ol Blue Max is still awaiting restoration. But I have had some success obtaining the proper blue corduroy seat covers with help from Charles Goin. In fact I've been able to source most of the hard to get parts' i.e. sunroof seals, rubber bumper overiders, etc. So I'm hopeful that I can get this Manta properly restored and back on the road in the not to distant future.

How did I not meet you Chris? I remember that situation quite well, I was there at the 2000 OMC meet and saw Dennis' GT literally minutes after the crash happened.

Guess that was pre-OpelGT.com anyway, I didn't know who 'Opelwasp' was and nobody knew who 'Rallybob' was either!

Jonzo

You see the rust spot on the paint on the very tip of the nose on the Manta? That is the only damage the car sustained. I hit Dennis' car square in the back doing about 15 mph. It destroyed his back panel, but only chipped the paint from the manta.

Thanks for the info opelwasp.
I guess that must be one hard-nosed Opel Manta even with the thin bumpers!
