The surgery is done

My wife had her surgery today and is out. She went in at 10:00 am and was out by 11:30. The surgeon came out when she was in recovery and told me the results.

It is better than thought, I think. She has an infection in the lungs, that's what the mass was. We don't know what it is yet but, it should be able to be treated. I hope it can be.

It is a relief that it is over though!! Now we can move forward in a certain direction.

Thank you for all your support!!!

Dean

Well we found out what it is. It is blastomicosis, a fungal infection that is prominent in northern Wisconsin. Only about 84 people get it per year and now my wife has it. She will have to be on anti-fungal meds for six months.

Update

My Wife is back to her old self for the most part. She is doing great and hasn't had any problems since. Thank You again for the support and thoughts.

Dean that is great news. I am so glad it is nothing worse than an infection. I would suggest that all the well wishes you have received from family, friends and member from this site had a bit to do with her good prognosis. The power of the minds, collectively, is awesome.

Jim, Gary, thanx for the thoughts. Looks like I'll have to change my avatar, though. After my first chemo session my hair started falling out, so my #2 daughter cut off most of my flowing golden locks. Now, after my second session, I'm getting to be a chrome dome.

Then again, when it grows back, it may be the color of my avatar.

That's just great Barry, my hair was solid white when I was in diapers. I guess I'll have to go through puberty again so it will turn blonde.
