The Manta & GT look great together. This Blitz is a really clean 3-D version of the classic emblem. What do you think it would look like if you modelled it head-on, very large, and behind the Manta & GT so the lightning bolt is just above the tops of the cars, so the Blitz looks like a big rising sun on the horizon?

How about something like this on the front left chest (artwork needs Graphic Clean up work). Note: This is a Great Idea for a contest, but I would also add to your voting poll. Would you purchase a t-shirt to help support this great Site. As t-shirts are very slow sellers in the Opel Community.

Tony. A recommendation. Sign your work with at least you first initials and year you did the original work.
It's really deserving of it. I have already printed out your GT and Manta to post on my wall.

Stolen off the internet so this probably doesn't qualify for the vote, but thought
it was cool enough to share.

As for signing my work, all of the hand drawings and paintings have my signature, the originals. I haven't thought of anyway to mark my work in Illustrator without being obtrusive and destracting from the design.

I know it's almost time to vote, but the German GT website shows some very interesting drawings - hope you don't mind, Norbert.
Go to Opel GT World and click on "kurios und selten". Both of the links have a bunch of good ideas which would look good on a T-shirt. Not sure about the copyrights, though. Dieter (2) |

OK, so the entries are in (There may be a second poll if there are entries after this 8:30 posting time)
Here is the deal. Look at the entries and simply choose whichever entry you would like to see on a shirt. The voting will run from today until the 22nd of November at midnight. At that point, the winner will be announced and I will start taking orders. The final design can be discussed further after the voting has completed. We don't need to vote on whether or not to make it a T-shirt or a hoodie or what have you because you should be able to get it on whatever you would like. !!!ATTENTION!!! You are not required to vote in order to purchase a shirt, which means that even if you do not care about the design, you can still help support the site. |

I like the work you did Tony!!! And if it contributed a small portion to this site, I'd definitely buy a shirt(prefer a jersey, but take whatever) Has anyone thought of some sort of mascot?? Kind of off the wall but, a combonation mini-brute/rat fink sort of thing might be cool???? Just a thought......and I have NO artistic abilities.......

I would like to log my vote, and combine this thread with the thread titled "Have you ever seen Otto this happy?"
I think Otto found the winner of the t-shirt contest

But seriously, I've been working on a reproduction of the Mini-Brute (exact, no embelishment), but it got back burnered when I started working on stuff for my business. Wanted to make-up something for the GT as well, like a pilot because of the "Nur fliegen ist schöner" slogan. Got a lot of things on the drawing board including stuff for Gary, gauges for my uncle, client work, etc.

Here's the design that I was thinking of. Grayscale blitz and a black and white one (ala Charles). The black and white one would be keeping in the theme of the cartoons black and white. Also, it would be cheaper to just print the single color or 2 colors if the shirt wasn't white. I played around with laying the text over the blitz but found it to be too busy.

I think the first GT/Manta combo and extra bold text layout that you submitted is best, and that it would look even more awesome with a large Blitz insignia partially in the background behind it. It would really establish the marquis at first glance instead of having to look on the backside. Do you think you could do a mock-up of this idea and post it for feedback? I am seriously lacking graphic arts tools such as Photoshop or even Paint and a Scanner!

My eye and vote in on Tony (Phoenix) design in post #69. It has both Opel's (GT and Sedan), sorry Gene, no wagon. But hey, you and the artist Phoenix, are kin.

Here's a sharper outline of the hood emblem tracing. Can you do anything with this? I couldn't figure out how to vectorize it.
