I went to see those GT’s in New Jersey a few years ago. The guy had 36 or so. I drove all the way there from Cincinnati only to find out they were not as good as he lead me to believe, and heinously expensive at that. I wonder what happened to all of them....?

well he vanished 2 months after i bought the car from him..... he was trying to sell the gt i bought for $3500, but my dad talked him down to $2,000.....
the ignition on the car is really wierd...you put the key in and turn it then you have to press this button by the hood latch to turn it on ... it works very well though ..

I live in New Jersey and own an Opel GT. As a matter of fact I hosted an outing at my house a couple of years back. Where are you located?

I also saw those GT's in Paterson off of Railroad Ave. The guy was quite a trip. If my memory serves me correctly, his name was Eddie Gazawie. Out of the 30 some-odd cars, only one or 2 were in reasonable shape. His prices were a bit high, but I enjoyed seeing so many GT's in one place.

Give me a shout!

A couple of months ago, I caught sight of a GT headed north on I-95 near Titusville (FL). It was orange and on a trailer. I can't tell you the date, but I can tell you it was a Thursday around 1:30/2PM since I run to Melbourne on Thursdays.

71 Opel GT on Car Crazy

There was a letter from the owner of a white 71 GT w/ sunroof. They showed before and after pictures. Looked good, but did not say who owned it. Maybe someone on here?

I think I know who it is. There is a little off the road automotive repair shop on about 3rd west. Thats where they sent my GT for repair after David Early tires ran the electricity through my GT backwards and fried the electrical system. Can't remember the guys name right off hand, but its an elderly guy and his son. Just give me a moment for my senior moment to pass and I'll remember his name.

GT spotted in Oklahoma City

I was traveling in Oklahoma City, OK yesterday around 1 PM and spotted a nice looking red GT. The Gt was behind me in light traffic traveling west bound on SW 44th between Walker Ave and Penn Ave.

The gentleman driving was alone and had a head frull of White hair. The car had some fairly wide tires and I noticed the Opel blitz logo on either some nice seats or seat covers.

Just wondering if it was someone on this site.

Opel sighting

I was watching the origional 1974 Gone in 60 Seconds movie on Speed Vision this weekend and there is a GT shown up close and Buick Opel dealership in the background. A very entertaining documentary about the star, stuntman, director and producer of the movie by his widow. It is out on DVD according to the numerous commercials. Lots of cool 74 and older car memories, a must see!!

V8 Gt

Today I saw a white? GT being trailered to the Tulsa dragstrip to race.
It has a dual quad carb tunnel ram setup and a large scoop mounted on top of the carbs. From the brief look I got it appeared to have been modified with care and looked fast.

His prices were really high, about 3x what they were worth, and like you said only two were in resonable shape. He had them all shipped from Utah or AZ and was probably taking a huge loss on them. I have some pictures of the warehouse they were in around somewhere, I'll have to scan them in.

Gold color manta spotted on Rt. 30 in Vernon, CT yesterday afternoon. Just wondering if it was anyone on the site. I have an apartment about 2 miles from there. I think that was the first time I have ever driven down the road and found an opel coming the other direction, with exception to Carlisle.

That's Mike Poletti (or his father). I went to high school with him... between him and his father they have 2 or 3 Opels still. When I moved from Vernon he became the last Opel owner in that town! AFAIK he does not visit this site at all.

Sunday on my way home from Springfield I spotted a red GT crossing a bridge over the freeway as I was headed north on I75. I was somewhere around Monroe, MI. I think it was 4:30 or so. It didn't look red enough to be coolcrisp's.

Saterday afternoon, I-5 around Roseburg Oregon I spotted 2 pickups with trailers loaded with GT's. Heading south. Looked like the cars were fresh from the berry bushes or field. Funny I was on my way north with a truckload of Manta parts! Just wondering, anyone from the board?
