[West Coast GT]

This Friday's auto section of the Contra Costa Times' Classic Classics spotlight was an Opel GT owned by Stewart out of Livermore/Pleasanton, California.

Nice article Stewart. Will we be seeing the GT soon at some shows or gatherings?

when we were on our way twards Kentucky thursday i saw a red Gt in chattanoga tn. i think it was parked at a lowes or home depo. anyone know who's it is?

Dennis Weil stopped by my house yesterday and showed me his 350 400+ HP GT. Very nice.

He also mentioned some GT's near us. They are located just past East Greenville, PA right before you go under the RR bridge on route 29 North. They are located in a business yard on the left.

I went there. There were 4 GT's. They look like they have been sitting there for a while. One had an inspection sticker of 1985. One was a '68-69 with a flat panel on the rear. It has the 1.1 engine in it. There is no GM logo under the rear window and the front bumper is solid. Attached is a picture of the rear. It was late and the sun was going down. There was also an auto and the others were 4 speeds.

I am not going to get these as I'm still working on my last project. If someone is interested, go for it.

Depending on how long ago it was it could have been me. I purchased three out of Kentucky-one was blue. That was two or three years ago.

But hey, the aircleaner duct was new, shiney, and without tears. I'm posting pics here. Also, the black GT had roughly 100,000 miles on it before the dealership bought it and restored it in the dealership service department.

On a recent trip from Long Island to Wisconsin on or about 7/8/08 I spotted an Opel GT (yellow) being towed by a maroon Chevy S10 on I 90 in Ohio headed East..
Anyone on the list?.. By the way, I stopped by Allen and Vickie Gage's on the way back ... Great people and their collection just keeps growing.. Vickie has a new Pontiac Solstice..

I was at one end of the show and he was at the other end. The show was downtown main street about 5 blocks long and 3 blocks on either side of main street. I looked for him a couple times but could never meet up with him. I left him one of my Opel busn. cards to let him know I was around.

The odometer had 21000 miles. the seats were just starting to show wear.

Yes, this was one nice GT.

My younger sister went to get groceries at walmart this last friday and saw a nice looking gt in the parking lot. She sent me pictures through a text message. It was blue and it had 2 white stripes going up the front, on the roof, and down the back. From the small picture the rims look to be non opel. She lives in northern michigin in a small town called Ironwood. Anybody on here? Also dont you think its funny that when one person brings this old thread up at least a dozen people chime in.

I'm from the Flint, MI area originally and all my family still lives up there. This past weekend was the Flint "Back to the Bricks" car show and cruise (referring to Flint's brick streets some of which have been preserved (see first photo)). My Dad snapped the attached photos of an Opel GT at the show. Does it belong to one of our many MI members?

Saw a Grey, silver GT on Holland Ave a Carling Ave in Ottawa, ONT, CA at 4:45pm today.

It looked original paint but clean body with a pretty young lady driving.

only the second one i have seen on the road here.

A few weeks ago I saw a part green, part grey GT in Wichita, KS on Douglass Ave. It was hard to tell how much of the grey, if any, was bondo. Definitely a work in progress, but at least it was rolling!

Saw a Chartreuse (sp?) probably 1970 GT in the Sterling/ Rock Falls area yesterday. I drove like heck to catch up to it at a light. It was in pretty good shape (no visable rust or dents). An older gentleman was driving it and I had time to yell "Nice Opel!" at him before the light changed.

Working for Volvo Construction Equipment, I am spending a lot of time in Eskilstuna, Sweden. The other day I spotted black Opel GT driving the opposite way.
Does anyone of you Swedish members know who it was?

Hi Rex, It was not me. I have not seen a red one on are area for some time. I know of two orange ones.

this one the paint looked a liitle old so it wasn't a restored one. but it is nice to see other Gt's in Alabama
