    GT Dash

You are correct the far right is a clock
Below you have your switches for the running lights, dash lights, windshield wipers, heater and rear window defroster
and below that are the emergency flasher lights.

(taken from memory - Ms. Opel is covered up and asleep for the winter )

One thing, maybe the most important, Tom forgot was the unmarked switch between the parking lights and the dash light. It isn't supposed to move. Trying to force it will only break it!

    Information

You would do much better finding answers to your questions,
if you first use the "search" function on this site, and also
acquire an Opel GT service manual.

This is mentioned, in an article with information written for
first-time Opel GT owners, that is available at this link:

    "I'm on vacation!"

That's one of my favorite sayings and one my family gets tired of hearing me say. But, I have time on my hands and like to doodle in MS Paint so here is a fully labeled 1972 Opel GT dash and miscellaneous other components. Like I said, "I'm on vacation!"

Hey Matt, the parking brake light is also a brake system warning light too. If the pressure differential between the front and rear brakes gets too great it will also turn on that light.

I knew I forgot something... Mine shoots completely over the roof so it washes the rear window - that's a feature! . Can you tell I have a lot of time on my hands?

Matt, I think I know how you drive and I seriously doubt on the open road that it makes it half way up the windshield.

    Matt;
If you take a small sewing needle, and stick it into the jet opening, you can use the needle to "aim" the jets properly.

Actually the one's I'm familiar with are shaped in such a way that they can be aimed without sticking something in the hole. I've had bad experiences with sticking things in holes! I've seen what happens on an agric. sprayer when someone tries to clean out a spray nozzle. Instead of it spraying in a flat fan shape it changes to a straight stream and when I left the pit area for a burger only to return and ask WHY the expensive specially ordered accelerator pump nozzle was dumping most of the fuel on one side in a synchronous opening two barrel carb. I will admit these were softer brass jets and the GT spray nozzles are a harder material, I think.

You can take a straight pin and put it in the little eyeball on the squirter and move the aim

And to be clearer on headlight indicator for those new owners who don't know , the white light, I know it is hard to get much information on those labels, white indicator lamp in the instrument panel lights if the headlamps are not completely opened and latched.

If everything seems to be going well you have obviously overlooked something.

I didn't know that - I'll give it a try. I also tend to stomp the pedal too hard.

    Thanks,

don't stick the needle or pin into the hole just the tip to try to move it and align if that doesn't work pop the chrome cover off remove the ball clean off the crud and re instal it and try again.

Good suggestions above and good catch on "Ammeter". My picture was really just me goofing around but it's generated some good tips and it should be accurate if it's going to be posted - so I updated it with the comments made thus far...

    I did not know.......

I still don't know it all but......

I did not know about the brake system warning light Namba209 (my buddy Ron) mentioned. I reckon I'll never see that light on little Ms. Opel anyway.

and I didn't know the chrome caps came off the (as you all call them-the window pissers) windshield wiper sprayers. I can't say I ever tried to use them on Ms. Opel. She likes to avoid inclement weather don't you know.

Ya learn such little increments of carnal knowlegde right cheer on this here site - it's mind bloddling it is.
