G.M. to End Pontiac Vibe Production in August - Wheels Blog - NYTimes.com even that's ending in August. Coincidently, I was following a Vibe this morning and I wondered what GM would do with the better selling cars built and/or sold exclusively by the demised brands, Pontiac and Saturn (such as the Vibe, the Sky, the Vue and the G6 etc). Apparently GM is so focused on cutting the brand names down that they are willing to "throw the baby out with the bathwater". It makes me wonder how long it will take before they are BACK in bankruptcy court...

I have to say one final thing on this..
The BEST car I have EVER owned.. is my 2006 Pontiac GTO Due to its rarity (Mine is Blue with a Blue Leather INterior one of only 2400 built with the Blue Leather), I have already hoarded away a complete interior, and headlights, tailights and other trim.. That way I have replacement parts for its eventual restoration in 2026.. ![]() Its like driving a BMW with a Corvette drivetrain.. 400 HP is just plain sweet.. It does look as the Holden Commodore/ Pontiac G8 may return as a Impala SS. http://www.autotropolis.com/auto-ind...-division.html http://jalopnik.com/5230928/lapd-to-...yline=true&s=x Heck its already done in the UAE market: http://www.chevroletarabia.com/conte...tml?cntryCd=QA

GM to investors: Don't buy our stock
The automaker warns that common shareholders will be wiped out when it emerges from bankruptcy.
Posted by Charley Blaine on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 8:51 PM You don't see this very often, but General Motors (GMGMQ) issued one of the most ironic press releases in memory today. It told investors to steer clear of its stock. Almost always in a bankruptcy, the common shareholders lose their stakes because all other creditors get paid off first. GM filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on June 1 in order to rebuild the company to better compete in a global market. The automaker noted today that its shares had been trading above $1 since June 8 with pretty heavy volumes. It peaked on June 10 at $1.55. The company repeated today its "strong belief that there will be no value for the common stockholders in the bankruptcy liquidation process, even under the most optimistic of scenarios." Investors apparently heard the warning. The stock fell 16.7% to 91 cents. GM to investors: Don't buy our stock- Market Dispatches - MSN Money Harold |
