Ron - I am glad our paths crossed both in person and online. I enjoyed meeting you and seeing Willit? in it's early stage back at the OMC meet. All the documentation of the work you did on the v6 conversion is here and your 6,000 plus posts continue to help others. That video of you taking family members around the block in it was pretty cool. Thank you! |

Hang in there, pal
Ron, Enjoyed visiting you with OpelJim in July 2007. Liked seeing Willit and the massive amount of work you did on that engine conversion: only question I have is where'd you get the shoehorn big enough to pull it off. Thanks, too for your many kind statements re the DESTEC Opel GT Wiring Diagram Poster--I know you really appreciated it. Hope to visit you again soon: Hang in there, pal.

We never met, in person, but, you're the type of person that's so easy to get along with. Everyone you met new, was just a friend you had not introduced yourself too. Impressive work on the V6 GT.

Being one of the few that's had the opportunity to see and ride in Willit?, a big thanks once again! I hope to visit you again the next time I'm in San Diego for a conference. Stay well and hang in there!

I have also benefited from all the information you have put on the forum. I followed your build with great interest. While we never met, you kind of get to know someone on here, and I am glad to know you. Hang in there. I wish you peace. Tom |

Ron,
I enjoyed meeting you a few years ago when we had a chance to talk cars and aircraft for the evening. You have provided a legacy here with the Willit thread, notwithstanding Willit itself. My thoughts are with you through these trying times, you have a lot of friends out here in Opelworld. God bless you, Rob.

Even though we never had a chance to meet in person, I've enjoyed your friendship through the online community and chatting with you (even as far back as the getting "yahooed" days). I have been glad to have your technical help but even more, I am glad to have you as a friend. Allen and I have you in our thoughts and prayers! Vickie

Ron,
I appreciate all the help you have given, believe me it has gone a long way with my opel pastime. Like all of the folks on the site, this is not how I like to reference a friend. Damit... you take care, hang in there, and think Air Force/Blackbird.

Hopping for a quick recovery!
I wanted to add myself to the long list of admirers that you have accumulated within the Opel community and beyond. Like some others, I have never had the pleasure of meeting you, however I feel as if I knew you because of the many posts that you have contributed, in fact, whenever there is a discussion that interest me, I always scroll down the page looking for the Namba post. Any way I hope you recover soon, can't wait to hear from you again.

Ron,
Just like many others here, I have never met you personally, but you don't always have to meet someone in person to know they are good people. Your willingness to help others and your passion for Opels has always been easy to see in every post you've made. Fight the good fight and get well soon. God bless, Duane

Ron,
I'm sitting in the San Diego airport as I read this thread (or inSane Diego as I think you have called it). I briefly thought about sending you a PM to see if we could meet while I am here but I have to take the red eye back to Atlanta. I wish you the very best and am hoping for a speedy recovery. Stay strong and next time I am out here (probably later this year) I hope to have more time and maybe I can see Willit in person too. It would be an honor. Best wishes, Matt

Ron,
Like so many others have said already, I feel we are neighbors even though we never met. I want to thank you for all the time you spend documenting your project here and the help your writings were to many of us. This "place" and the folks here like you never cease to amaze me. I also want to thank you for your service to our country. Freedom isn't free and I know your time with the Blackbird had much to do with the end of the cold war. Hang in there my friend, you're in my thoughts and prayers. James Coronato N61WP

It's been pretty quiet around here without Ron posts and contributions.
He has been a friend to me,as much as anyone, even though we have never met in person I feel like I know him as a real gem of a guy. I was sorry to hear of his illness and we all hope for the best outcome.

Hey Ron,
I always look forward to your posts about Willit? and InSanDiego! I am in awe of your car. The skill and workmanship that went into putting it together is instantly obvious. Whenever I get cheezed off while trying to pull a starter or rebuild my ignition, I always remember how you calmly and patiently tackled and solved every obstacle along the way. Keep doing that! Be well, Ron in Indy |

Pullin' For Ya
Hi Ron, We've never met, e-mailed, PMed, etc. BUT, I have done extensive research through the posts and have continually found your input and experience, constantly pointing the way towards the correct conclusion. Call me a lurker if you will. I researched Willit and found tremendous information, not only for those wanting to swap an engine, but just in general "do this, not that." kind of knowledge. So, I just want to leave you with this bit of hard earned wisdom that my uncle Chet taught me. He was a tailgunner in WWII.......... "Don't ever start a fight, but if you do get in one, .....make sure you finish it." Remenber, you can beat anything!!!!
