Let it go. The guy has every right to do whatever he desires now that he is in possession. I know your upset, but at the time you wanted money or space instead of the car. Alot of people feel they still have control of something they owned years ago, well it must not have been that important, if they let it go. Anyways I tell people that once I have sold something, they can run it off a cliff if that is what they desire...not that I would agree with their decision, but at that point it is none of my business. Anyways...if you want the car back, why don't you instead of trying to black list the guy, email him yourself and offer to purchase the car back for what you sold it for. He may say sure, he thought about it and desided it was too much project for him at this time, and was going to try to recoop or at least make a little off it.

1) What someone is willing to pay for it. or 2) What someone is willing to sell it for. Seems like it was worth $200 to you when you were selling it. If it is worth the $550 to someone else and they want to buy it for that from the new owner, then it is a fair price.

That said he isnt asking a ton more.. Maybe he got over his head and figured he would go for double what he paid for it, in the hopes he would get the money he paid for it and it cost to go get it.. etc. etc.
Looks like a decent restoration project and most of all its a rare 1.1 so $550 isnt unreasonable. I thought this was a case of someone adding a 0 to the end. I.E. buying it for $200 and trying to sell it for $2000.. I have seen that a time or two. I am a typical Opel buyer/seller.. I buy it for $900.. spend $200 to go get it.. and then when I need room and have no choice sell it to another Opeler for $500-$600..

Reminds me of .....You don't miss something until it's gone. Hey, I just sold my 87 Jeep Cherokee with almost 300,000 miles on it to a wrecker for $750 three months ago. I probably couldn't have sold it for that much in a private party sale. Wish I had it back though...the Bay Area Air Quality Management District has increase their vehicle retirement amount to $1250.
If the description on the listing is correct, you really don't have a gripe. Jerry |

I agree, let it go.
You may have sold it to him for $200 but what does he have in it now? He may have had to pay sales tax to transfer the tiltle plus the cost to move it to his location. He may never get what he's asking, anyway. Not worth worry about the difference imo. Life is that way. ![]() ![]() He may be a car flipper, but it seems like alot of work for that price range.....
