I have, and in fact I used to sell them. I probably still have 10-20 sets laying around!

They're perfectly fine for a stock engine or anything mild up to 125-130 hp. After that I'd start looking at Magnecor or something better.

Add a little flash to the engine bay? Are you sure you aren't thinking of Lucas wires?

Oh, I just like the look of not-black spark plug wires.

just curious, what would make one wire better or worse for a higher hp engine?

The diameter of the wire. (I think) Simply put, the more horsepower an engine makes, the larger spark it needs to ignite the Fuel / Air mixture; and in order to obtain a larger spark, you need more current which then requires a larger cable.

No plug wire at all with separate coils for each cylinder. ie cop ignition
Before that was the cnp with a short plug wire.
And before that was the dis units.
Long time ago we used solid core plug wires...........

To add to what Jay and Dan said. It is amazing to see the difference in spark intensity when as little as 100psi is applied to the spark plug much less the higher pressures that it will see in a running engine.

Important things to look for when buying ignition wires.

The ability to handle the higher voltage of a performance ignition system, not only its' ability to handle the current but insulated well enough to prevent/resist crossfire between the wires. Because of the high voltage we see thicker insulation. As with anything the quality of the insulation is important, not just the thickness!
Ability of the wires to hold up under the harsh environment they must operate in.
The aftermarket sells fat wires, wire separators and insulating sleeves for a reason. Sometimes for cosmetics and sometimes because they're really needed.

That's what I was going for, the engine bay of most british cars look like a lightning storm, especially after it has been raining.

Yea . . . I am looking for 'flash' and reliability, not flash and the reduction of reliability!

I guess that I should have clarified. My intention with the use of 'flash' was to derive a word from 'flashy'. Bright, shiny and new, Oh my!
